The CSIA Council meets annually and this year the members met in Hong Kong on 19 and 20 April for an EXCO and Council meeting.

The Council welcomed new Council members who joined in 2018, Dr Paradza Paradza (Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in Zimbabwe – ICSAZ) , Ms Karyn Southgate (Chartered Secretaries of Southern Africa – CSSA) and Mr Makarand Lele (The Institute of Company secretaries of India – ICSI).

The vacancies created by new member representatives being appointed was filled at this meeting by Mr Tom Omariba (Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya – ICPSK) who was elected as Treasurer and Mr Makarand Lele (The Institute of Company Secretaries of India – ICSI) who was elected as Secretary.

The meeting also provided the opportunity for the CSIA Council to meet with stakeholders in Hong Kong following the decision to liquidate the Geneva Company and incorporating the Corporate Secretaries International Association Limited as a company limited by guarantee on 10 February 2017 in Hong Kong.
