Taona is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in Zimbabwe and a Chartered Governance and Accounting Professional (Zimbabwe and UK). He is also a registered Public Accountant with the “Public Accounting and Auditors‟ Board (PAAB), a Fellow of Southern African Association of Accountants (SAAA), a holder of BCOmpt degree from the University of South Africa (UNISA) and an MBA from the University of Zimbabwe (UZ). Also obtained Qualifications in Forensic Accounting (ICSAZ), Certificate in Pensions Trusteeship (ZAPF). An Alumnus member of the University of South Africa.

Taona is currently, the Founder and Managing Director of Daxilon Security (Pvt) Ltd. Founder and Patron of St Stephen Anglican Church-Manicaland. Former Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Grain Marketing Board Pension Fund. He was Benefits Officer before raised to Pension Fund Manager at Mining Industry Pension Fund. Taona joined the Auditor General briefly as Senior Auditor before moving to start Grain Marketing Board Pension Fund.  He is part of the International Pension Funds Conventions Board where he sits as the Program Chairman for East and Southern African Continent. In his early working years Taona worked for Fidelity Life Assurance Company being involved in credit control, claims, underwriting and customer service.

A Seasoned conference presenter/speaker/facilitator with fourteen (14) international papers presented to date, mentor and life coach, Taona also held several leadership positions in and outside the Financial Services industry. Taona is the current President of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in Zimbabwe (2020 to date).
